Tri-Town Democrats Sponsor Talk On Climate Change Oct 27th
Friday, October 13, 2017
We will host Dan Weeks on Friday, October 27, 6:00 PM for a Climate Change talk at the Emma Ramsey Center in Milton.
New Hampshire is notorious for the high cost of electricity and our reliance on 85% imported fossil fuels, which cost the average NH household $11,500 a year and severely affect our environment, economy, and public health. The NH legislature and PUC recently made a series of policy decisions around net metering, rebates, etc. that will significantly impact NH's energy future.
On October 27, at 6:00 PM in the Emma Ramsey Center in Milton, the TriTown Democrats welcome a presentation by Dan Weeks, a board member of ReVision Energy. Dan will speak about these policies and the pathways to energy independence as a state through solar and complementary breakthrough technologies. ReVision Energy is a local Certified Benefit Corp working with families, businesses, and policymakers to accelerate the transition to homegrown renewable energy and energy efficiency. ReVision considers public education an important part of their mission, and have made presentations to Rotaries, Chambers of Commerce, and other community organizations in the past.
You can read some of Dan's recent writings on climate change and clean energy in The Concord Monitor at http://www.concordmonitor.com/Common-sense-clean-energy-in-Concord-9699080.

Tri Town Dems Meeting December 8th, 7PM in New Durham
Wednesday, December 7, 2016
Our next scheduled meeting will be on December 8th, at 7:00 PM in New Durham at the New Durham Library. Brian Hawkins, head of government relations from the State Employees Association, SEIU local 1984, will be our guest to give us his take on state government and where we are headed.
As
an FYI, we lost a great activist on November 18. Lenore Ekwurtzel, who
was an avid campaigner for Democratic candidates, most recently,
Hillary Clinton, and a beloved member of our TriTown group, died
November 18. She will be missed by all. There
was a Memorial Service Saturday, December 3, 2016, at
St. John's United Methodist Church in Dover, N.H., followed by a
reception in the church's fellowship hall.
As
you prepare for the holidays, give some thankful and positive thoughts
for Lenore. Read about her life through her obituary at:

TriTown Democrats to Host Executive Council Candidates Meet and Greet for Districts 1 and 2.
Farmington, New Hampshire - March 14, 2016 - The TriTown Democrats, representing the Democratic Committees of Farmington, Milton, and New Durham, is proud to announce a meet and greet for Democratic Candidates for Executive Council Districts 1 and 2. The event will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 3:30 - 5:30 PM at the Farmington Town Hall, 531 Main Street, Farmington, New Hampshire. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend.
Mike Cryans, the Democratic Candidate for District #1, was born and raised in Littleton. Mike began his professional career as a teacher, passing on the gift of a quality education to the next generation at the very same high school in Littleton he attended himself. He then worked his way from loan officer trainee at the Littleton Savings Bank to a Senior Vice President of the Dartmouth Banking Company. For the next decade he operated a sole-proprietorship assisting local small businesses arrange financing and helping working families achieve the dream of home ownership. His values of hard work and the importance of treating everyone with respect and dignity Mike attributes to his father, a WWII Veteran and union carpenter, and his mother, a homemaker. Mike has embodied these values throughout his career as a teacher, small business man, and presently, as a public servant. Find out more at www.mikecryans.org.

The Executive Council of the State of New Hampshire has the authority and responsibility, together with the Governor, over the administration of the affairs of the State as defined in the New Hampshire Constitution, the New Hampshire statutes, and the advisory opinions of the New Hampshire Supreme Court and the Attorney General. Each of the five Executive Councilors represents one fifth of the population or approximately 263,000 citizens. Councilors are elected every two years, concurrently with the Governor. The Councilors participate in the active management of the business of the state, with assistance from the Commissioner of the Department of Administrative Services and the Attorney General.
The TriTown Democratic Committee advocates for strong local support of our communities, and supports legislation and candidates that are community minded. Their activities provide political, economic, and social information for the citizens of the three towns, but also encourages progressive movements in these areas at all levels of government. Through community involvement, political action, and a shared vision, the group seeks to expand equity and opportunity for all residents of the Towns of Farmington, Milton, and New Durham.
